The Standards Board for Alternative Investments (SBAI), an active alliance of institutional investors and alternative asset managers, announced today the launch of its Oceania Advisory Committee.
The Committee brings together leading institutional investors, asset managers, and investment consultants to enhance the SBAI’s visibility and connectivity within the Oceania investment community and with regulators. Its goals are to foster dialogue, promote industry good practices, support the adoption of the SBAI’s Alternative Investment Standards, and ensure that the regional and local needs are effectively addressed in the SBAI’s Standards and guidance.
The Members of the Oceania Advisory Committee include:

- Matt Dellit, Head of Alternatives, NSW Treasury Corporation (TCorp)
- James Esland, Investment Director, QIC

- Andrew Korbel, Senior Portfolio Manager, Absolute Returns, Victorian Funds Management Corporation (VFMC)

Ben Samild, Chief Investment Officer of the Future Fund and Trustee of the SBAI said: “The SBAI is delighted to affirm its commitment to and increase activity in the Oceania region, which is home to a sophisticated institutional investor community with over 3 TN USD in assets. This Committee is an important step in supporting the SBAI’s global efforts to foster meaningful dialogue between investors, managers, and regulators.”

The SBAI’s next Oceania Institutional Investor Roundtable will take place on 19 March 2025 in Sydney, where leading regional allocators will gather alongside global SBAI stakeholders.
