Albourne Partners is recommending LPs partner with managers that are adept at capitalizing on emerging technologies within areas like energy efficiency storage, carbon capture and hydrogen fuel.

The consultant says many energy transition investments are in new or nascent technologies – consequently, GPs may have limited expertise with these types of strategies.

“Investors may have to get comfortable with the expertise they have in ancillary technologies or in the way that the GP is able to structure a deal to mitigate the risk around a novel investment.” Ashli Aslin, partner and senior analyst of real assets at Albourne told With Intelligence.“
